The housing market in Castle Rock and Douglas County remains strong in 2019 regardless of predictions of a softening US economy. Castle Rock was listed as one of American City and County's "Best Small Cities" in 2017, Money Magazine's "Top Places to Live" in 2011, 2012 and 2014, and NerdWallet's "Top Places for Jobs and Families" in 2013.

In 2018 Castle Rock was the 14th fastest growing city in the US according to U.S. Census data, with a population of 64,827.
Castle Rock's population grew almost 25% between 2010 and 2017.
